Thinking about visiting or moving to Canton? Here are the questions I get asked most, with straight answers from a local.
What's the cost of living like?
Canton is very affordable — about 4% below the national average, with housing roughly 12% lower and utilities about 16% lower than typical.
What about traffic?
Traffic is light to moderate almost year-round. Quick access to I-75 via I-575, plus GA-140 and GA-20, makes Canton something of a North Georgia nexus — you can get just about anywhere you need to go. You also get coveted Peach Pass access for priority tolls to and from Atlanta, which really helps during busier hours.
What's the best thing to do downtown?
Canton is famous for its historic downtown. Stop by the Mill for breakfast and some shopping, or grab a scoop at A Cone To Pick and stroll Main Street.
Where's the best coffee?
There's just something about the way Bizarre Coffee nails the perfect cup every time — my go-to is the Wild Blueb or the Apple Pie Chai. See my full coffee guide →
What does a perfect Saturday look like?
You'll usually find me playing pickleball at Kenney Askew Park, followed by a bite at Wicked Wings or a smoothie from Tropical Smoothie. For more ideas, my restaurant and sweet treats guides have plenty.
