Events in Canton, GA: Festivals & Recurring Things to Do

The events that bring Canton together year after year (and week after week). Add as many to your calendar as you can for the full local experience.

One of the things that makes a community feel special is an event that brings everyone together — year after year, or week after week. Canton has a wonderful variety of these, so add as many to your calendar as you can to get the full local experience.

First Friday

Held in Downtown Canton from 6–9pm on the first Friday of each month, May through October, First Friday is a great way to kick off the weekend. Downtown comes alive with music, food trucks, and local vendors — the perfect evening to meet neighbors, catch a live band, and soak up the community vibe under the stars.

Canton Farmers Market

Open seasonally at Brown Park, the Canton Farmers Market offers fresh local produce, baked goods, and handmade crafts. It's a vibrant community space for shopping local and supporting small businesses. My move: grab a coffee at Bizarre, then wander the market to see all the goods and fun booths.

Riverfest Arts & Crafts Festival

A highlight of the fall season, Riverfest at Etowah River Park brings together 150+ artisans and crafters with food trucks and live music. The whole town comes out for this festive weekend — and the best part is that all proceeds benefit local children in need.

Cherokee County Mother's Day Powwow & Indian Festival

Held around Mother's Day, this festival is a unique chance to experience Native American culture through dance exhibitions (including hoop dancers and Aztec performers) and traditional music. You'll find tipis, living villages, Northern Plains encampments, wildlife displays, and Native American vendors selling artisan goods — plus cuisine like buffalo burgers, frybread, and Indian tacos. It's a wonderful event for all ages, and includes a Mother's Day Honor Dance.

Friday Night Live at the Mill

The Mill on Etowah is always a fun outing, but every Friday it becomes the place to be, with live music and outdoor games. It's a laid-back atmosphere that's perfect for winding down after the week — bring a lawn chair and enjoy the tunes.
