The Best Hikes In & Near Canton, GA

From easy riverside strolls to rugged wooded loops and a real waterfall — my favorite hikes in and around Canton.

Lace up — Canton has trails for every pace, from flat riverside walks to wooded climbs and a waterfall or two. Here are my go-tos.

Blankets Creek Trails

Canton's marquee trail network — multiple wooded loops (Dwelling, Avalanche, Mosquito Flats) shared with mountain bikers. Well-maintained and scenic.

Boling Park & the White Trail

Riverside walking along the Etowah; the White Trail follows the historic Sutallee Trace to a creek and small waterfalls. (Heads up — no dogs at Boling.)

Etowah River Park

The most family-friendly option — easy, flat, scenic trails right along the river.

Allatoona Falls (Toonigh Creek Falls)

A short hike to a genuine waterfall near Lake Allatoona, by the Cherokee County Aquatic Center. The rocks and falls get very slippery — watch your step.

Olde Rope Mill Park (Woodstock)

Just down in Woodstock: the Rope Mill Loop and Little River Trail wind along the water.

Edge of the World (day-trip)

A little farther out near Dawsonville — easy boardwalk-and-dirt paths along Amicalola Creek, worth the drive.
